Ansley + Joe
Our love story, from Ansley’s perspective:
When I first started thinking about engagement rings, I knew I wanted something timeless, but with a vintage twist. I’ve been following Susie on Instagram for years, and it feels surreal that the day I was dreaming of finally arrived. Her pieces always stood out to me because they’re so beautifully timeless yet undeniably inspired by history. The way she works with gold is magic, and her pieces have a way of feeling modern while still honoring classic design—it's a perfect balance I knew I wanted for my own ring.
I also knew I wanted an oval diamond—it felt like it would elongate my fingers in the perfect way. I wanted something unique, but not over-the-top, and the split shank Susie suggested was just the right amount of something extra. It felt unique, but still timeless—just like me. I’ve always gravitated toward simplicity, and yet I wanted a stone that truly stole the show. This oval diamond did exactly that. It’s so striking and subtle at the same time.
Joseph, my fiancé, really leaned into the process and took the reins on a lot of the details, which was a wonderful surprise. He helped bring my vision to life, especially with the hidden elements of the ring. The underside of the ring is actually one of my favorite surprises. It’s something I hold close to my heart—a little secret just for me. We’re big travelers, and when I was in France, I fell in love with the opulence and history of Versailles. It’s such a romantic place, with a past that felt truly magical. We created some of the most unforgettable memories there—from sipping champagne on our balcony overlooking the Eiffel Tower to riding around Provence in a convertible, picnicking on the beaches of Nice, and then, of course, getting engaged in the gardens of Versailles.
Joe proposed to me in the gardens of Versailles, and it couldn’t have been more perfect—such a beautiful, historic setting for such a personal moment. But the magic didn’t stop there. That night, Joe took me to a costume Marie Antoinette ball at Versailles. It was like stepping into another world, full of opulence and romance. We danced the night away, and it was the perfect way to begin this new chapter of our lives.
The underside of my ring is inspired by the intricate swirls of the Versailles gates, a piece of that fairytale I’ll always carry with me. Now, as we’re planning our wedding at a chateau outside of Paris, it feels like everything has come full circle. Susie has been so supportive and excited throughout this journey, and I know she’s someone who will be there for many more milestones. She feels like a friend, and I can’t wait to see what more of her incredible artistry will bring to our life together. Her ability to capture the essence of a couple and create something truly unique is unparalleled. We are so beyond thrilled with our ring, and I’m grateful to have Susie as such a meaningful part of this chapter in our lives.
